In a kindergarten changing room a rubber bat vanishes into thin air, igniting suspicion and resentment among the parents. As mutual distrust and resentment are laid bare, what unfolds is a tale of family and community life that is both humorous and heartbreaking, familiar and unsettling. Within the most quotidian of settings, „The Bat” offers a layered portrait of contemporary Hungarian society.
